Founded in 1988 by Cumhur Gökova, Gökova Sailing Academy is Turkey 's most active private sailing school, with over 20,000 graduates . It is a family business. Based in Marmaris , a beautiful city on the Aegean coast , it conducts its sailing training in the unique bays of the Southern Aegean.

From basic sailing courses to astro-navigation , our organization, International Sailing Schools, offers a wide range of training encompassing amateur and professional licenses and captaincy certificates. It was selected as the ' European Education Centre ' of 2015 by the Association .

Weekly yachting lessons, trips and training in the Greek Islands, long voyages to places like Malta and Israel... In short, everything related to sailing awaits you at Gökova Sailing Academy, the only sailing school in Türkiye.

Cumhur Gokova

A Turkish explorer who crossed the Sahara Desert, went to the North Pole, completed two circumnavigations of the globe, and climbed Mount Elbrus. He is known as the "Teacher of Teachers" due to the large number of sailors and instructors he trained. Many of his sailing students have opened their own sailing schools, continued their sailing careers as amateurs, and embarked on circumnavigations of the globe. His sons, Atilla and Tolga Gökova, have also become sailing instructors, participated in significant projects such as the "Turkey Tour Record," and actively provide sailing training . Cumhur Gökova, who founded the first women's sailing team in Turkey, brought Turkey a second-place finish in the ARC 2005 sailing race and was awarded by the Turkish Olympic Committee.

Routes

Weekly tours to the bays of Hisarönü. Group tours available upon request. Trips to Göcek bays, Greek islands, Crete, Malta, Egypt, Cyprus, and Israel.

Active All Year Round

We provide training in every season, summer and winter, to teach real seafaring skills.

Guarantee

Guaranteed out to sea and completion of the course on the promised date, even if there is only one participant. Those who successfully complete the course will receive Canadian IYTA and Turkish Sailing Federation YY1-YY2-YY3 Certificates. Opportunity to obtain ISSA certificates from the UK for those working professionally.
